1 Overview The yarn Linear density is one of the commonly used indicators to describe the yarn fineness. The legal unit is tex, that is, the common weight (g) of yarn (or monofilament) per kilometer (km). The Linear density of yarn determines the variety, use, style and physical and mechanical properties of fabric. For yarn Linear density test, the length and mass of the sample shall be determined. The length shall be measured with a frame length meter, and the mass shall be measured with an equal arm balance or an electronic balance.
2 Purpose and Requirements
Through testing, master the testing method of yarn Linear density, cultivate the ability to skillfully use the instrument, understand the factors that affect the test results of yarn Linear density, and learn the calculation method of various indicators.
